Founded in 2002 in Reno, NV, Alstam LLC designs and manufactures high-performance duct burners for HRSG and air-heater applications. With more than fifty years of experience in combustion system design, manufacturing, and commissioning, founder Al Davis has helped shape many of the industry’s most reliable burner technologies.
Al’s career began at Coen Company, where he contributed to the development of several foundational duct-burner innovations, including extended wings, air-augmented firing, and fresh-air operation. He later established Davis Combustion Systems, which produced over 100 duct burners and introduced the branched element assembly—a design that increased heat capacity without requiring multiple elements.
After transferring that technology to Forney Corporation, Al founded Alstam to continue advancing duct burner performance and design. Today, Alstam’s products combine decades of proven engineering with continual refinement, offering dependable solutions for a range of power and process applications.
The company’s latest development, the High-Capacity (HC) Stabilizer, doubles the conventional industry heat release to 6 MM Btu/hr per foot, reducing the number of elements required while maintaining flame stability and uniform heat distribution. With experience from more than 500 burner projects worldwide, Alstam remains committed to innovative engineering, improving reliability, and practical technology.
